Firearm inventory security is a crucial aspect within military environments to prevent unauthorized access and weapon misuse. This research aims to develop a security system for a commander's pistol storage safe by applying a multi factor authentication (MFA) method based on Edge Computing. This system synchronously integrates two biometric security features, namely fingerprint scanning and facial recognition, as the main requirement to open access. The use of edge computing technology is chosen so the entire biometric data computation can be completed locally directly inside the device. The application of this tactic successfully minimizes latency, eliminates dependency on external networks, and secures data from cyber threats. Based on comprehensive testing results, the system is proven capable of performing identity verification accurately, quickly, and stably. In conclusion, the combination of the MFA method and edge computing architecture successfully creates an independent, robust, and efficient physical protection innovation to support safer weaponry inventory management in maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and sovereignty of vital assets at the military command headquarters now.
